Story

Kristina and I are running the Edinburgh Marathon on the 31st May 2009 to raise money for Animal Care Egypt. Just to give you an idea why we are doing this, there are approximately 100 million working equids in the world, and sadly they are looked after by less than 1% of the worlds vets. These animals are a crucial lifeline for their owners allowing them to earn a living and feed their families. Animal Care in Egypt (ACE) is a hospital based charity providing front line veterinary care in Luxor, Egypt. ACE treats hundreds of horses donkeys and mules every year and urgently needs help to continue this work and specifically build new paddocks for the hospitalised patients as there are many more animals that need treatment than stables! Kristina and I visited ACE recently and spent some time working in the hospital. The ACE team of Vets and Volunteers are an inspiring group of people and treat all manner of injuries and ailments from wounds to fractures. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure.
