A couple of the staff at Simpson House Medical Centre have joined together to take part in the 10 mile Ladies in the Night walk to raise money for Michael Sobell Hospice (MSH).  MSH is a local hospice that provide specialised end of life care and support to our patients, their families, friends and carers.

We're walking in memory of Pat Stuart, who was our Patient Group Secretary and a dear friend to the practice for many years.  Pat sadly passed away quite suddenly last September.  Although Pat only spent a few days in MSH, the care and attention she (and her family) received made a real difference.

Pat really was a one off and always knew what to say to make you
smile.  She had a very naughty sense of humour and was highly
inappropriate quite a lot of the time, but that just added to her charm and she could get away with saying anything.  We miss her an awful lot and are proud to be doing this walk in her memory, although we're pretty sure she'd think we were mad.

We've managed to rope in Pat's lovely daughter and granddaughter, Tracy and Emily as well as her dear friend Amanda to join us, so good to know she'd be laughing at them too!

The plan is for us to walk the 10 mile course starting from Michael Sobell House on Friday 15th June at 10pm and into the night!  If you know any of us that will be even tougher than it sounds!

The hospice makes such a difference to so many people going through a heart-breaking time.  They offer invaluable support and make that time just a little bit more bearable.  Please help us support them by sponsoring us!
