Story

My special reason for running for Cancer Research UK, in the London Marathon is because, my friend Howard Burnette The Complete Entertainer died in hospital of cancer on 3rd November 2005. He was one of the greatest entertainers in Benidorm if not the whole of Europe.

Burnette's launch into the entertainment business began way back in the 70's, starting out as a front-man for a rock-band. Moving to Spain, he made a name for himself on the Costa's with a string of hits including"Dance of the Ducks","Sunshine Holiday and "Shall we Dance". He also entered the British charts releasing the classic 60's hit "Running Bear" reaching number 62 in the charts. Burnette also co-wrote, produced and performes a hit by The House Boys entitled "Christmas in the House" which reached number 2.

Magic played a large part in Burnette's life, turning in to something of an obsession. Having worked with people such
as Derek Newman, Geoff Mitchell and Joe Riding, he had become one of Europe's top close-up magicians.
Burnette was a complete showman unrivalled in many of the things he did. He had been described in many ways - crazy, brilliant, extrovert, though never offensive. For these reason's and many more he was deserving of the title "THE COMPLETE ENTERTAINER".

I only knew Howard for a very short time, but I will miss him.
