London Marathon 2023 · 23 April 2023 ·

In 2023 over 300 runners will take on the world famous London Marathon to raise funds and awareness for the MS Society. This is their team page.

Story

Charlotte and I have decided to take on the London Marathon together in April (with Charlotte going on to run the Berlin Marathon in September), in aid of the MS Society as Maria, my wife, and Charlotte's stepmother has MS and is a keen supporter of the MS Society and the research they are undertaking. She mentioned recently that she wished she could run to raise money for MS, but due to her condition it's too difficult, so we decided to take up the challenge in her place. Maria has also asked that we also do this in memory of her much-loved aunt and Godmother, Babsy, who also had MS - so here we go!

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a condition that affects the brain and spinal cord. In the UK more than 130,000 people have MS which affects them in various ways including difficulties with movement, eyesight, memory, and much more. Currently, there is no cure. However, the MS Society has been funding research in 3 areas:
- Prevention of immune attacks
- Myelin repair
- Neuroprotection

Developments in these 3 areas are incredibly exciting for MS sufferers and bring hope to many, as they could significantly aid MS sufferers and even eventually stop MS.
