In Andhra Pradesh many children live below the poverty line and have no education. St Mary’s Educational & Charitable Trust provides deprived and destitute children with a stable, secure and caring environment for them to learn and flourish. Your donations will make a difference to a child’s life.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am supporting the efforts of Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic School in Shirley, Solihull and the Solihull Catenians to raise money to equip the classrooms in St Mary's School in Eluru in the Indian State of Andhra Pradesh with projectors.

Today, teaching is done via chalk and blackboards.  Introducing projectors will enable teachers to use computers to teach the children and augment lessons with the masses of material available on the Internet, truly enriching the children's educational experience.

Each projector will cost approximately £400.  They have 20 classrooms.

Education can unlock the door to enable these children to realise their full potential.  Let's start opening the door for them.

I gained a place in the London Marathon on 28 April 2019 not tied to any charity, and it is my privilege to use that place to support these children.
