Railway Children has a vision of a world in which no child is lost to the streets. Across the UK, India and Tanzania, our networks provide an opportunity for us to reach children who are alone and vulnerable before they come to serious harm. Together, we’re determined we’ll leave no child behind.

To my family, friends and colleagues, in March I’m taking part in a charity cycle ride in India to raise money for the Railway Children.  I’ll be cycling 450 KM over 5 days.  Click on this link to see the route I’ll be
cycling https://www.railwaychildren.org.uk/events/events/ride-india/

Many years ago I used to cycle regularly to and from work in
London and at weekends for pleasure.  This is something so important to me that at the age of 58 I’ve decided to get back into the saddle.  My training’s a little under schedule due to various reasons but I’m confident I can complete this challenge.

The Railway Children Charity help vulnerable young people in
the UK, India and Africa and - as someone who occasionally slept rough in London as a teenager (another story) and worked in social housing as an adult I know the dangers young people face. The problem hasn’t gone away, in fact it’s getting worse in the UK due to Government cutbacks & the enormous pressure on social services, so imagine what it’s like in countries without that safety net?

So, I’m asking you to help me to raise money for the Railway Children Charity and help them to help vulnerable young people. I’ve committed to raising £3250, so any donation – big or small will help me reach that target and help vulnerable young people.
