Story

Reps for Remembrance 2019

'We will suffer to honour their memories and their sacrifice'

Reps for Remembrance is an annual workout in memory of the victims and heroes of the September 11th 2001 terror attacks. This annual event first started in 2013 at Trojan Fitness Bristol and has been held at Crossfit Fort Ashton since 2014.

Every year on, or near to the anniversary of, 9/11 we perform 3,000 burpees to honour each life lost and an additional rep to mark each year since 2001.

2019 will mark the 18th anniversary of 9/11.

The workout: In teams of 4, 6, 8 or 10 athletes will complete 3,018 burpees between them. Reps can be split however you want, but only two athletes can work at any one time. This workout... is open to athletes of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. Reps can be scaled to burpees without a jump or burpees without the chest to floor. The workout will begin with a two minute silence.

As previous years, the gym will be open 17:00-19:00 for those who wish to take on "Murph" before beginning the main Remembrance workout.

This workout will be in aid of Combat Stress (Donation of £10 per athlete, with all proceeds going directly to the charity)
