The Sick Children’s Trust is the charity that gives families with a seriously ill child in hospital a comfortable place to stay and a friendly ear to listen in one of our ten ‘Homes from Home’. By providing families with somewhere to stay near their child they have one less thing to worry about.

Story

Thanks for clicking and checking out the page, as some of you may know our daughter Lena was born with a heart defect that wasn't picked up until she was a month old. She suffers from a form of SVT and Mitrial regurgitation. At a month old she had a severe episode of SVT which most likely caused the damage in her heart and after spending a short time in James Cook paediatric intensive care unit she was transferred to the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle where she could spend time with specialists in babies hearts.

During our stay here we where told we could stay in an on site property called scott house which is completely free as it is paid for and ran by the sick children's trust charity, these on site accommodations are up and down the country and give families the opportunity to stay over at the hospital to be close to their poorly children and not have to worry about expenses and other things.

3 months ago I started a fitness endeavour to change my life style, and as I'm progressing myself I've decided I would do something I've always said I would since last year and give something back to this great charity that helped us and many other families. So I've decided to do the total warrior 12km obstacle run in Leeds on the 24th June, and in doing so raise some money for this great charity. I appreciate any donation big or small as it's all to a good cause.

Wish me luck, I may need it!

Paul.
