Butoke has been affected by “the Cost of Living Crisis” and is having to deal with increased food and fuel prices. Further, the support that the Friends of Butoke Charity provides (in US dollars) is becoming more expensive. The value of the pound against the US dollar has gone down by over 10% this year.

I know that you are all going to be flooded by requests by charities to help out with the consequences of the Cost of Living Crisis in the UK over the next few months.  However, I would be very grateful if you would consider sponsoring me to help Butoke keep its core activities going at the same level over the coming months: the primary and secondary schools, the maternity unit, the clinic, the orphanage and the Elsa Corp Justice Project which provides support to women and girls who have been attacked.

What is the sponsored event? On the weekend of 24/25 September I am going to do the Yorkshire Three Peaks. It’s 25 miles plus about 1675 metres of climbing. With a small band of intrepid explorers I am intending to walk up and down the three mountains and run between them. I don’t think we’ll get close to the 2 hr 46 min record (!), but we’ll do our best to finish in a decent time. If anyone fancies joining us, please do get in touch!
