Para 10 · 9 September 2012

The Afghanistan Trust gives assistance to soldiers of The Parachute Regiment who were wounded in action, or the dependants of those killed in action in Afghanistan. It achieves this through financial and welfare support. It also sustains the memories of the loss of life and sacrifices made

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I've chosen to push myself both physically & mentally this year for a fantastic cause. The Afghanistan trust raises money for soldiers who have physical & mental injuries. A number have lost their sight, arms & legs yet still remain resilient in unbelievably difficult circumstances.

In fact an injured ex paratrooper who now works for Barclays helped put my challenge in perspective as I started my training in March. I informed him that I had just run 2 miles and felt shattered. He then explained that he would be running the Para 10 even though he had lost a leg in Afghanistan as he would be getting his new leg before the event in September. A truly inspirational moment for me!!!

So please dig as deeply as you can & donate to these fantastic people who deserve our respect & support.
