In 2016, one weekly food collection from Tesco's contributed to warm soup for homeless people, now in 2023 we have 23 collections from four different retailers on a weekly basis.

As the pandemic worsened in 2020, more and more individuals and families struggled to put food on their table, it's hard to believe that we have so many families in our community who do not have the money to buy groceries and we take this basic need for granted.  We also have an ever growing homeless problem.

Since joining the scheme, Chabad of Ilford has collected and redistributed nearly 34,500 kg of surplus food, which is the equivalent of approximately 82,145 meals, and helps many hundreds of families and individuals every week from all denominations, with basic necessities.
