Story
I'm running my first marathon (*gulp*) at the London Marathon in 2014 and I'm running for a small local charity called 'Strongbones'.
Strongbones is a children's charity set up to help alleviate the pain, suffering and financial burden of families who have children suffering from brittle bone disease, bone cancer, scoliosis, arthritis, and all other conditions of the bone.
If you donate your money would go towards the following types of aid:
- Providing walking frames, wheelchairs, specialist buggies and adapted trikes to enable children to gain access in the community
- Adaptations to properties and medical equipment to be installed, this allows families to live as normal as possible
- Funding social activities/day trips to take children out of social isolation
- Hardship grants to help with essential bills, household appliances and clothing. As often parents of affected children have had to give up employment to provide round the clock care for the life altering conditions of their children
I would really appreciate it (as would the children and families that Strongbones help support) if you would sponsor me.
