Hello, 

Thank you so much for coming this far and checking out my page!

I can't believe I've now committed to this, but I will be running the Brighton Marathon in September for the most amazing cause. 

It's worth noting that I hate running. Really hate it. I'm really bad at it too. There's not a moment when I'm running that I don't wish I wasn't running. Its hard and I'm kinda fat. 

But....

Square Pegs Arts is a charity that is extremely dear to me, not only because my wife is the charity director, but because of the outstanding work they do and the fantastic life-changing opportunities that they provide for the young people and adults that take part in the various activities.  Beth has dedicated so much of her life to helping others, so I figured that I could do something to help. 

That said, a marathon is really far and there's every possibility a man of my physical stature may well perish in attempting such a ridiculous conquest, so I'm looking to you to ensure this mission is worthwhile. I need to raise as much money as I can to help this amazing work continue. Together we can make a massive difference; you stick some money in the pot and I'll run the 26 and a bit miles (God, it makes me feel a bit sick just typing that!) 

So please, if you can, donate whatever you can afford. Every single penny will go towards helping the cause and enhancing the lives of these amazing young people. 

A bit about the charity and the reason I'm even considering this:  Square Pegs Arts provide opportunities for vulnerable, socially isolated people with learning disabilities and autism to be involved in high quality Arts based groups, projects and performances. This allows people to be engaged in purposeful activity where they can build friendships and feel a real sense of belonging. We use drama, music and creative based methods to build confidence and self-esteem, develop social communication skills and other transferable skills so that everyone can achieve and maintain positive wellbeing and be their best self.
