Story

Thank you for visiting my Just Giving page, it is much appreciated.

On 9th February 2011, my brother's eldest son, Conrad James Lewis, was killed in action in Afghanistan.

Conrad was a paratrooper serving with 3 PARA on the front line and was immensely proud to do so.

It takes a special sort of individual to join the parachute regiment and volunteer to protect the safety of others, but Conrad thrived on operations, as usual giving it everything he had and I miss him terribly.

Conrad was only 22, but the epitome of a paratrooper - as Field Marshall Montgomery put it "They are, in fact, men apart".

The Parachute Regiment Charity do an amazing job supporting the families of those soldiers who are hurt or killed in action and in Conrad's honour I feel compelled to support them in some way. Therefore, to raise some funds I will be competing in the PARAS' 10 event in September this year, a 10 mile endurance race.

I am grateful for anything you may be able to give and will do my best to honour Conrad's memory in this small way.
