On 3rd September, myself and my good friend Colin Lavety are attempting to swim the full length of Loch Lomond from Balloch to Ardlui (or Ardlui to Balloch - dependant on weather conditions).

This is a distance of 22.6 miles (if we manage to swim in a relatively straight line!) - that's further than swimming the English Channel (approx. 21 miles). Although we won't have to worry about jelly fish or container ships :-)

We've spent the last few months training for this and recently swam almost half the loch in around five and a half hours - so we're going to be in the water for a long time!

I'm raising money for charity - SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health). SAMH currently operates over 60 services in communities across Scotland to provide support to people to help them have better mental health and wellbeing.
