Hopefully never, but one day, you might need an air ambulance to get you or someone you know to hospital in one of life's 'golden hours'.
I may as well try and help others through the sport that I do. This is a chance to put a pound or two into a damn good service in case you ever need it.One of my passion is triathlon. This year I will attempt my first Ironman in Nice, France this June. This involves a lot of training (10-15 hours per week) plus the interim events below:
- Sat 14 Jan - Country to Capital Ultramarathon (45 mile run) completed 10h:19m:52s
- Sun 19 Feb - Wokingham Half Marathon (13.1 miles) - completed 1h:54m
- Sun 4 Mar - High Wycombe Cycling Club reliability time trial (100 mile cycle ride through checkpoints) - aborted after 60 miles due to snow - in March!
- Sun 25 Mar - Cheshire Cat 100 (100 mile cycle ride through checkpoints) - Route ended up being 110 miles, completed in 7h:26m:11s
- Sun 15 Apr - Thames Valley Sportive (100 mile cycle ride through checkpoints), completed in 8hr 3min due to faulty bearings on bike.
- Sun 22 Apr - The Chilterns Big Dipper (100 mile cycle ride through checkpoints), completed in 7hrs 2min
- Sun 20 May - Royal Windsor Swim (3,800m swim in the Thames), completed in 1hr 44min
- Sun 17 Jun - London to Brighton cycle ride (55 miles I think), completed in 4hrs
- Sun 24 Jun - Ironman France (First ever IM and I'm bricking it), injured on run so entered IM Wales for 'another go'.
- Sat 19 Aug - Henley Olympic Triathlon (1,500m swim, 25 mile bike, 6.2 mile run)
- Sun 16 Sep IM Take two - Wales (2.4m Swim, 112m bike, 26.2m marathon), Completed in 16hr 19min - dream achieved :)
- Sat 27 Oct - Snowdonia Marathon (26.2m).
