Cycle Qatar. VSO Fundraiser June 7th-June 9th

   Next weekend I'm doing my first VSO fundraiser.  As you might know, I hope to do a 2 year placement with VSO when I finally leave Qatar.  VSO asks all potential volunteers to raise a minimum of £1500 before they start their placement.

   I will be attempting to bike it from Al Shamal in the very north of Qatar to the Sealine Centre which is as far south as you can go by road in the country.  I say attempt because this is a rather stupid time of the year to do this; temperatures are in the mid 40's and it is also rather windy.  This the plan:-

Day 1

Al Imam Al Shafei School, Doha to Sealine Centre Mesaieed. (40km?)

From there I will get a lift up to the north (Thanks in advance to Mike Jackson)  Spend night at Al Shamal camping.

Day 2

Al Shamal to Al Khor. (50km?)

Hopefully early (4am) start down to a resort at Al Khor.

Day 3

Al Khor to Doha (40km?)

Final stretch followed by soak in bath.
