Founded in memory of Russ Devereux, the Headlight Project aims to reduce the number of deaths by suicide in the Tees Valley through therapy of those bereaved by suicide, and preventative education and training.

Story

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is a 24 mile route with 1584m of ascent which takes on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, usually in this order and in under 12 hours. Myself and a group of friends are hoping to complete this challenge on May 29th within 8 hours to raise money for The Headlight Project and in memory of my cousin, Russ Devereux who died by suicide in 2018.

The Russ Devereux Headlight Project was founded in memory of Russell Devereux by his wife Catherine. Russ tragically died by suicide on 6 May 2018 age 41 leaving behind three young children. The aim of the project is to work with children, delivering emotional resilience programmes in schools in the Teesside area. The Project also offers play therapy for children and one to one counselling for both children and adults and has a particular focus on helping families bereaved by suicide.
