National Three Peaks Challenge · 5 June 2021

Nightingale House offers a wide range of facilities to local people and their families living with life-limiting illness. Patients come from Wrexham, Flintshire, Denbighshire and outlying areas. In 2025 it will cost £5,603,094 million to run the Hospice - this equates to nearly £15,351 per day.

Story

For over 25 years staff here at Nightingale House Hospice have created an environment that gives patients and their loved ones quality time to spend together. Not having to worry about the care a loved one receives, knowing they are in safe hands means every second spent together is dignified and peaceful. Without support such as yours, our specialist palliative care units wouldn’t be able to deliver such high standards.

My bit :

Originally, I was doing this challenge for myself, to prove myself, to better myself, to push myself, all self funded, after recently and fortunately recovering from Covid19. It's always been on my "to do" list, as part of my bucket list.

Over the last few days, different friends I've spoken to, have encouraged me to do it for a worthy charity, as why shouldn't they benefit from my efforts. So here goes.!!

The National Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales, often within 24 hours.

The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft) - twice the ascent of the Yorkshire Three Peaks, over a similar total walking distance. The total driving distance is 462 miles

So please, dig deep, no matter how large or small the contribution it all adds up, and share the hell out of this, as I'm doing this challenge in 18 days eeek!!! lol.
