I struggle with heights, so this will be hard for me! It’s the highest tandem skydive in the UK (15000 ft).

But, knowing that hundreds of millions of Christians in more than 70 nations suffer persecution just for being Christians, I want to make sure my fundraising efforts for them, are hard for me to do.

I’d love to raise £5000 but let’s see if we can smash that target and change the lives of many.

When I was young I thought nothing of climbing mountains or parachuting out of aircraft. But 2 years ago, fundraising by climbing a volcano in Kenya, I developed very real difficulty with heights. I was disoriented and sometimes ‘frozen’ to the spot. I had to keep going because there is no mountain rescue in Kenya! 

Now, I can’t even watch rock climbing videos without feeling queasy. So, I don’t know what it will be like to complete a Summer Skydive, or if I even can?

Fifty years ago, and even more relevant today, Pastor Richard Wurmbrand, after being imprisoned and tortured for his faith, wrote these words in his influential book Tortured for Christ:

“Our brothers and sisters there, alone and without help, are waging the greatest most courageous battle, equal to the heroism, courage and dedication of the Early Church. And the free Church sleeps on. Will you sleep while your brethren in Christ suffer and fight for the gospel? Will you hear our message: Don’t abandon them!”

We must not abandon them, so please will you sponsor me to help Release International continue its Calling, “To Love and Serve Persecuted Christians”.

No amount is too small or too big.
