Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving

Name: Kurt Hast

Kurt was an amazing husband to wife Sally and father to son Daryl and daughter Carol. A thoughtful father in-law to Caitlin and Brett. He was liked and respected by many friends and colleagues alike.

Kurt was a very hard working family man who devoted his life to caring and providing for his family,

Kurt loved football – enthusiastically watching more so than playing it! Especially watching Germany win the 2014 world cup. It was always a good time watching football with him and seeing him animated. Football brings us united as a family we would get together to sit down and enjoy the evening together.

At age just 65, Kurt was diagnosed with Lung Cancer and given 4 months to live but amazingly and stubbornly endured 11 months of its hold. This was an extremely difficult time for Kurt and his family but Kurt stayed brave and dignified throughout the terrible process that cancer put him through.

Throughout this hard time, he continued to give us moments of happiness and laughter.

Sadly, In July of 2016, Kurt peacefully died at home with his family.

Kurt was a real character and loved by all that were fortunate to meet him. He's dearly missed, so loved and will never be forgotten as his memory lives on.

Being part of this and been given the opportunity to raise awareness is a great honour, and everyone involved should be proud of themselves.

He would be chuffed to bits knowing this is happening in his honour and the family are so proud that something so fun and positive is in his name.
