Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.

I am completing  the Great North Swim on the 14th June 2014 in memory of Joe and to raise further funds for Brain Tumour research

We sadly lost our son Joe aged 20 after two operations and treatments for brain tumours. Joe was first diagnosed when he was 8 years old and had a successful operation to remove a Low grade tumour. This re-occurred aged 13 years old and radiotherapy was used to cure this. Just when we all thought that he was clear for the rest of his life a secondary aggressive tumour occurred and despite further surgery it suddenly took his life in April last year.

Brain tumour research receives less than 1% of national funding despite accounting for most occurrences of cancer in the under 40's

Brain Tumours claim more life years than any other cancer.
