I am running the Dartmoor Vale Marathon on 18th October 2009 for Leukameia Research. This charity is of special siginificance to me as my father in law (Roger West) has a rare form of leukaemia and has been undergoing treatment for the last few years. He is an inspiration as he has never let the disease get on top of him. At the age of 58 he is still regulalry out running 6 miles three times a week and mountain walking distances of up to 20 miles when he can find the time to get out in to the hills.

The leukaemia that he suffers from is rare and there are ongoing trials at the moment for drugs that one day may eventually cure his illness.
