‘Only a month ago I would never have imagined waiting for a space to come up in a hospice for someone so close to me.’- when I wrote that Rob was waiting for his space, which he got and spent many weeks in the hospice. 

Unfortunately the hospice was not what we had expected, maybe our expectations were wrong, maybe they were not. I now can only hope that the fundraising money is put towards things directly for the patients and families that use the service. I didn’t need to sit on 20+ different beautiful couches on my own, I needed to sit on one, where I could speak to a counsellor or confident. 

A lot of the nurses, all of the auxiliaries  and doctors were amazing, and I mean mind blowing. But what we needed as a family, and Rob (most importantly) needed couldn’t/ wasn’t catered for. I hope a lot can be learned from our experience and it never happens again, but for now I can only hope the fundraising that’s done isn’t for cosmetics and is for the services the patients need.

Thank you to every single person who donated, we didn’t even do the charity run because it was cancelled!! We will do it next year to fulfil our side of the deal. 💗
