The William Templeton Foundation for Young People’s Mental Health improves lives by inspiring innovations - based on leading research - for the identification, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mental health conditions.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Will Templeton was a student in the Upper Sixth Form at Kimbolton School, Cambridgeshire, preparing for his A level exams in Physics, Chemistry and Maths. He was due to study Computer Science at university. Will was a keen football goalie, and is remembered for his love of computer games, an incurable sweet tooth, a passion for snowboarding, a love of puns and his warm companionship with his dog, Snuffy.

Will had been troubled by social anxiety and depression throughout his adolescence.  He took his own life on April 10 2018. He was eighteen years old.

His father, Peter Templeton set up the charity The William Templeton Foundation for Young People’s Mental Health (YPMH). The charity aims to help accelerate the translation of scientific research into innovations that will enable the early identification, diagnosis, treatment and – ultimately- prevention of conditions such as depression. More details can be found at www.ypmh.org

Lauren and I are running the Cambridge Half Marathon to raise money for this foundation and to help raise awareness of the importance of YPMH. It will be Lauren's first half marathon and I am very proud of her for taking on this challenge.

I would appreciate if you could support this very worthy cause.
