Peggy Dodd is an award winning charity which works to help those living with dementia and memory loss, whilst providing respite to support the people who care for them. We do this through our day centre in Combe Down, Bath and our home support service.

Story

So, I’ve always wanted to fly, so for my 70th Birthday treat, I’m going to fling myself out of a plane and hopefully raise money for a charity that is very close to my heart.
During the 11 years Rich and I battled with his dementia, a small but amazing charity, The Peggy Dodd Centre, supported us both. We could go there for Singing for the Brain, Dementia Cafe, Sales and socials and feel accepted and cherished. Richard loved going to the “Peggy Dog” centre to meet his friends and share laughter. His friend, Sue, was found for us by the Peggy Dodd service and together they went on many adventures, including instances where Rich danced to buskers at Bristol docks, or slept through films at the cinema!
The Peggy Dodd Centre makes it their business to stimulate clients at their ever growing Day Centre, whilst also keeping a caring eye on the toll this dreadful illness is taking on family members. They walk beside us throughout this harrowing journey.
I know things are extremely difficult at the moment but would be very grateful if you would sponsor me as I do this sponsored tandem skydive on 5th August 2020, which would have been our 20th Wedding Anniversary. This is the best and only birthday present I want.
Thank you so much    Paula
