Story

For the past 13 years our little girl Mia (Mimi), and our family have used Claire House Childrens hospice for respite and family holidays for 21 days a year.  They have looked after Mia since the age of 2 when she was a little tot with a feeding tube, epilepsy and delayed development. Fast forward 13 years and Claire House still continued to look after Mia when she had become so very much more medically complex. Mia had a feeding tube in her tummy, epilepsy, scoliosis, had her tummy closed to stop her from vomiting and choking. She had diabeties, low muscle tone, couldnt walk or talk, had a tracheostomy (breathing tube in her neck) and a ventilator to assist and support her breathing 24/7.

On March 20th 2019, our precious baby girl passed away peacefully in the arms of myself her daddy and her sister. All our family and friends were also staying in Claire House to support us during the worst time of our lives. The support we recieved from them was second to non, they looked after us all so well. The ladies from the "Butterfly Team" literally held our hands and led us though the whole process from driving us to the town hall to register Mias passing to arranging the funeral directors visits to the hospice.

So I am asking you to kindly donate to Claire House Childrens hospice for lots of families like ours who would be lost without it.   Families like ours who have used the hospice as a life line for the past 13 years, and more importantly ensuring Mias last hours with us were as perfect as they could be.

(Claire House Childrens Hospice helps seriously and terminally ill children live life to the full by creating wonderful experiences and bringing back a sense of normality to family life. By providing specialist nursing care and emotional support we help families smile again when life couldnt get any tougher. For every child that we reach there is one that we do not. Help us reach more children and create memories that last a lifetime).
