Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Last year on 6th June I got the C bomb dropped on me - had the op and radiotherapy and feeling lucky enough to have come out the other side. I am healthy enough to get fit ( hopefully) for this challenge with some awesome friends who want to help me give something back. . Ruth, Sally, Anna, Karen and Suzi will be joining me cycling/supporting the four outer most points of Dumfries & Galloway and covering over 300 miles, It’s not about setting land speed records but about enjoying some time with these friends and an adventure it certainly will be with 300 miles of Dumfries & Galloway best roads to contend with.
I decided to help raise money for Maggie's centre because they helped/counselled and made my time in Ednburgh that little bit easier They help and support every kind of person and family off this horrible disease. By 2020 almost half of people in the UK will have cancer at some point in their lives (depressing fact). With more cases being diagnosed every year, and people living wth cancer for longer, they need expert support to complement medical treatment and provide comfort and hope for more families than ever before.
Maggie’s Centre is a place to go and relax and have some respite from the hospital environment for all cancer sufferers Maggie’s have a range of professionals - cancer support specialists, benefit advisors, nutritionists, therapists and psychologists all ready and waiting to help you
