Story

Last year we raised £868.00 for Key 103's Cash For Kids appeal in support of Mission Christmas when I ran a pre-work Marathon on December 9th.

This year in order to raise more money than last year I am going to run more than last year.

WHEN?  From midday on Thursday 30th November 2017 to midday on Friday 1st December 2017 I will run non-stop (apart from loo breaks and a bite to eat of course!).

WHERE?  This 24-hour ultra will follow a 10 km course that will start and finish at Owens Park Hall of Residence, Fallowfield, Manchester.  The route will cover the University of Manchester's residential estate running north from Owens Park, up Wilmslow Road and Oxford Road  past the Accommodation Office, George Kenyon, Weston and Wright Robinson Halls of Residence.  Then returning from Wright Robinson heading back south passing Liberty Park, Dalton Ellis, Opal Gardens and St Anselm Halls of Residence, down Birchfields Road and turning right on to Moseley Road, passing the University's sports ground and back to Owens Park ... and repeat.  And repeat. And repeat ... for 24 hours

WHAT can you do?  Donating money would be great.  Even better why not donate money and join me on the run?  You could do a 10 km loop with me (or less if that works for you) and keep my spirits up especially during the night, the early hours of Friday morning and the final hours of the run leading up to midday on Friday.  Don't worry about the pace - I can assure you that my Ultra pace isn't a 10 km race pace!

I've done a 100 km run and a 100 mile run in the past and I know that having a runner by my side in the night and during the last few hours will help massively.

Given the nature of this Ultra run - a short repeating course - I will have the advantage of not having to carry a bag, supplies, kit, etc having a base camp at Owens Park where I will benefit from a support crew of James & George from 'The Locker' in Reddish, Stockport.
