Story

To begin with our Target may sound like crazy but everyone who knows me knows I will not give up till I succeed my targets and dreams!!!

To raise this money we have planned:

1) Three UWCB Matches  -  First event 17/12/23

2) Releasing a Children's Book

3) Organising our own Charity Boxing Match in 2024

For me raising money for Macmillan it is critical at this moment in time, especially as  thousands of lives are  being put at risk due to long waiting on the NHS for cancer tests and treatments.

As a nation we are seeing such a stretch on not only our NHS system but our social system.  So for me this is just my first step to not just raise an amazing amount to help people living with cancer, their loved ones, and those that work with them but to also raise additional awareness that at present all though our government may not fully admit that the country is struggling, in-fact for me I see it as a broken system and serious changes need to be made!

For me since COVID we have seen a massive failure which has not only affected myself in major ways but practically anyone i know!

So I asked myself how can I make a difference and for me the answer is very simple we need to stand together as 'We are Stronger Together' and I always say to my family, friends and working colleagues please 'Believe In Me' as I am going to 'try, try and try again until I succeed' in making a difference to so many peoples lives!!!

We all face life challenges and have been affected by trauma of many types and Cancer has affected all of us in one way or another so as a person who personally has already lost so many friends, family members including at a young age losing my Grandfather George Charlton WW2 Royal Merchant Navy Chief Gunner who died from cancer which was rumored to be caused by the hazardous affects from the Anti-aircraft artillery.  Losing an old school friend Graeme Green at 29 years of age and many others.  I also have many friends who are currently fighting cancer, my uncle has Leukemia and my father Colin Carter has a rare form of blood cancer.

To support Macmillan, I have decided to enter a UWCB on the 17th December 2023 which is  being sponsored by the company I own and run Sparkle and Shine Valeting and Detailing Ltd,

As a business owner I am already known as a person who set up his family business not only to help support the community, raise and support local charities, sponsor young talented individuals where possible to fund their sporting events, but employee and support individuals who sometimes find it more difficult to obtain and maintain jobs in the workplace.

I have already started training although this has been extremely difficult and painful as for myself I have been failed by the current NHS system and I have been waiting approximately nine months for surgery to correct a hernia.

I am delighted that I am not only being supported by my family my friends, friends of friends, the local community but my customer base who many are well known celebrities.

It just shows me if everyone can stand together the world can certainly become a better place.
