When we were told our son Edward was deaf we were  lost.

Like most parents of a deaf child we had no previous knowledge or experience to rely on and we had many questions we wanted answers to.

Communication is so important to children in their development and without it they can become isolated and lonely.

Some of the most simple everyday things can become a huge challenge when a child cannot express themselves.

The National Deaf Children's Society provides essential support to deaf children and their families.
