We increase public and medical awareness to support people with myasthenia

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. On Sunday 26th April 2009, I will be completing the Flora London Marathon for The Myasthenia Gravis Association, a charity that means a great deal to me and my family.

Myasthenia Gravis is a life threatening muscle weakness disease which has sadly affected the life of a close family member for the past 5 years.

The body's immune system, in the form of antibodies, attacks and damages the nerve signal reception areas causing a breakdown in communication between nerve and muscle, which results in a loss of effectiveness of the muscle.

At present, there is no known cure for Myasthenia Gravis, however, Oxford based research financed by the MG Association promises a breakthrough in the not too distant future. So any donation, large or small, can really make the difference we need and will be appreciated greatly by both myself and my family.

Many thanks for your support!
