There are almost 5,000 people waiting for a life-changing kidney transplant and yet millions of us have two healthy kidneys & need only one. We aim to raise awareness of non-directed living kidney donation to support those considering donation and to publicise why more donors are needed.

Story

I held a Charity Dance in the fantastic newly refurbished Clydebank Town Hall on the 26th April for 'Give A Kidney'.  The reason I am holding this event is down to my brother Kenneth who donated a Kidney to a complete stranger and in doing so saved and improved the life of another.  I am now about to do the exact same thing and in doing so we will become the first Altruistic Sibling Kidney donors.  I am sure you will all agree that this is an amazing gift to give someone and I want to make sure Kenny knows how proud I am by putting on a top class event.

In the UK alone more than 300 people die a year awaiting a kidney transplant and there is more than 6500 people on the list waiting for a  kidney transplant.

My idea started off as a small event but with the interest and support of a few friends it has escalated into something I never thought I was capable of putting together.  The venue is outstanding and newly refurbished.  I had 7 top DJs playing including the amazing George Bowie from Clyde 1.  I also had a piper, Rockette Cheerleaders, and Buff Butlers to welcome my guests.  The setup and sound and lighting was outstanding and all done my the amazing Ross McIntosh from AVL Scotland.  Highly Recommended!!!

For my raffle I had the gorgeous Cassi from Clyde 1 and the fantastic Wee Man comedian who was fantastic.  Top prizes given away included a holiday and T in the Park Hospitality Tickets.

If I can raise another £706 I will raise £15,000 for Give A Kidney which is an amazing amount of money especially after putting on such an amazing night.  Please help me get to this target figure.  I would appreciate all your help.

You can add me on facebook at Paul Dj-Dooley if you wish to speak to me or see video clips of my actual event.  It was absolutely fantastic and was around 440 people in attendance.
