The dull stuff you can probably skip, Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: British Heart Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

The scary stuff, Heart Disease is Britain’s biggest killer. Every year about a quarter of a million people in the UK have a heart attack. Nearly half that number will die. 50% of the people who have a heart attack will have another one within a year. A third of the UK population will die of a heart attack

Why am I running the London Marathon? Why not... its only 26.2 miles.... seriously I ask myself this question everyday but my answers are. The Marathon is a seriously big challenge; it’s all or nothing with me!!

The British Heart Foundation is an important charity to me as Heart disease has affected people close to me like I’m sure yourself. I personally have been hurt by this disease having family and close friends go through tough times with heart attacks and operations but worst of all I lost a good friend to a heart condition and he hadn’t even reached the age of 30!!

I have never raised money for charity as an individual so I felt it was time to be selfless and get off my back side and do some good for this fantastic charity.

The BHF invests nearly £100 a minute in research also providing vital information to help people reduce their own risk of dying prematurely from a heart or circulatory related illness. They do not just stop there they do many other things to help but need your support

The clichés Every donation counts, no donation is too small. Knowing that you good people have sponsored me will give me the motivation required to pound the streets (Rain, Wind and of course plenty of pain) for the next few months and spur me on as I get overtaken by someone dressed as SpongeBob Squarepants on the big day on the 26th April.

Also..... (typical of me to go on and on!) The London Marathon is just over a week before my 30th Birthday so please rather than buy me a present or drink to those tighter people just donate the price of a pint or 3 to this fantastic Charity!

Big, big thanks for your support. I look forward to sharing a beer (or several) with you after this is all over

Cheers!

Paul (Drewie)

PS. I have even sacrificed not drinking any booze for 14 weeks to help me get through this! Which for me is going to be as hard as running the 26.2 miles. Roll on April 26th
