Story

Those who know me know that, coming from Chamonix Mont Blanc 🏔️, I’m at home in the mountains. Combine that as a female business leader with a passion as a strong advocate for diversity joining Women on a Mission, WOAM (https://www.womenmission.com) was an opportunity I took without hesitation. Over the past weeks I’ve seen them plan, mobilise and execute - I believe there is nothing these women can’t achieve.

It is therefore a great honour to be joining this expedition to Kyrgyzstan with a team of 14 amazing women 💥 from around the world. Trekking 150km in eight days across mountainous landscapes, between 2,500 - 4000 metres high (Mont Blanc is 4,809 metres), with the objective to raise USD$100,000 💵 for women survivors of war in Afghanistan and Syria via Women for Women International,  an organisation that works with some of the most marginalised women in the world helping them to transform their lives

⚠️➡️  Sara Bowcutt, Managing Director of Women for Women International stated, “The women we work with live in some of the world’s most dangerous places – it can be hard for us to imagine their daily challenges. I find it so inspiring that WOAM push themselves far outside their comfort zone in order to raise money and awareness for women survivors of war. Each trek they take on is just as challenging as the last, and WOAM members truly go the extra mile to leverage their networks and raise incredible sums of money, which make a real difference to the women we serve 🔆.”

The charity will be providing women with tools 🛠️⚙️ and resources to build a sustainable ♻️ future for themselves and their families 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦👴🏽👵🏼👨‍👩‍👧.

Around the world🌎🌎, more countries are experiencing some form of violent conflict than at any other time in the last 30 years, and women suffer the most in a conflict. They are forced to flee their homes to escape violence and routinely face the threat of sexual violence in the form of rape, forced marriage and sexual slavery. Increasingly, women and girls 👧👧🏼👧🏾👧🏻 are targeted by the use of sexual violence as a tactic of war 🪖.

Some of the Programs:

    • Stronger Women, Stronger Nations: Offering training and financial means to women to break the isolation of war, conflict, and gender discrimination to realise their own power. As they form connections in class, women learn to save, build businesses, understand their rights, improve their health, and change societal rules. They pass this knowledge on to their families and communities — creating a ripple effect for generations.

  • Conflict Response Fund: Through a non-partisan approach and responsive grants, Women for Women International is able to track crises in real time, identify credible partners on the ground and allocate resources to meet the needs of women survivors, no matter what side of a conflict they are on.

Please  🙏🏽 help me and these fabulous women reach our fundraising objective of 100,000 USD to help these women move from crisis and poverty to stability and self-sufficiency.
