Hello my name is Pauline I'm raising money The Eve Appeal by having my hair shaved off. Both my self and my friend Annette had  gynaecological cancer. I survived the cancer because of having an hysterectomy and chemo. 

 Below is Annette’s story written by her sister as sadly Annette is no longer with us.

There are five gynaecological cancers –
womb, ovarian, cervical, vulval and vaginal – but awareness levels of these cancers is very low.

On the 18th of april 2018
Annette was diagnosed with stage 4 cervical cancer which she have been told is not curable but treatable, but she never let those words bring her down , she stayed positive and strong for her family. Although she was in a lot of pain she never one moaned about it she just got on with it.

 As for your SMEARS ladies please go and get them done. Annette had never been for one and this is why I am writing this post as she was one of these women who thought I'm fine surely she would know if there was something wrong which brings me to the next
point Annette had not been feeling Ill as such before she got diagnosed,  

she felt a little bit more tired at night after a full day's works ( she just put that down to getting older Lol) she was getting more headaches but she put that down to stress and tiredness But the reason she went to the doctors was she had a swollen lymph node in my groin which had become a little bit painful, and things got taken from there as she told the doctor it had been like that for about 3-4 months so just keep this in your mind although you think a symptom is minor like hers mention above

 please get them checked oh yes and I'll say it again get your SMEAR

 She battles through first intense chemo was 8/9 hours a
day every 3 weeks. She never complained. They started a second treatment but sadly this was stopped as the treatment was no longer working and Annette was on palliative care. Which broke us all. But again Annette just took it all in her stride. She was an inspiration to us all. My girls spent every summer holiday with her. We all went in holidays together. She is very much missed.

Sadly she lost her battle to this horrid disease on 12th October 2019. We lost an amazing woman. The party animal life and soul of the party. She really was an amazing woman. I have only written this post to try my best to make sure all my family and friends
