Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

I am running the Reading half marathon on Sunday 2 March 2008 to raise funds for West Berkshire Mencap.  This is a local charity that supports people with a learning disability to enable them to fulfil their potential in life.  Among their services the after school club and holiday play scheme provide vital activities for both children and parents.  The children have the opportunity to develop their social skills and their parents receive some much needed respite.

This year they will extend their building to include a soft play room.  Here children with a learning disability can burn off their excess energy in a safe and soft environment.  To make this dream come true West Berkshire Mencap needs to raise £50,000 towards the cost of the new extension.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: West Berkshire Mencap will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.
