Douglas Macmillan Hospice (Dougie Mac) is the only hospice in Staffordshire supporting Children, Young Adults & Adults. Care is given to patients who are living with a life-limiting illness at our two sites and in the community. We also provide support for patients families and their carers.

Story

Rob Hope (Sabit Engineering) and his "Merry Men" are planning to walk over 100 km (actually 68.6 Miles) of the Thames Path route in less than 24 hours to raise money for our local North Staffordshire Hospice "the Dougie Mac" the team will consist of Paul Staley, Nathan Walton, Gary Mellor, Terry Stanway, Gareth Higgins and Rob Hope. This walk is normally completed in over 4 days, however, the team will leave Stoke - on - Trent early am on Tuesday 7th June and travel to the start point of the Thames Barrier in London and will start the challenge at 4pm in the afternoon, the team will have to maintain a pace of over 5km an hour to reach the destination of Marlow by 4pm on Wednesday 8th June.
