This stunning photo of Paul Weller was taken at the Northampton Royal and Derngate 02.04.17 on the second night of the 10 date “A Kind Revolution” UK Tour in April 2017 by Derek D'Souza.
Having reviewed the images from the gig, Derek wanted to create an almost pencil drawing style, and took the colour levels right down in the photo. He was delighted with the finished result and also had a laminate coating on the photographic paper to give more of a matt look and feel which works especially will with low colour or black and white images.
Derek arranged to meet Paul at his Black Barn studios on 5th Feb 2018, mainly because it was the first opportunity to give him a copy of his latest book “In Echoed Steps: The Jam and a Vision of Albion” a collaboration with writer Simon Wells and Designer Paul Skellett and the Paul Weller print is in the first part of the story.
Being so personal Derek wanted to give Paul a copy in person if at all possible, and was happy to wait a bit longer.
Paul really liked the print and happily signed it - Derek had asked him to sign two prints both to be donated to charities of his choice, and Derek explained who they were for, and he was interested to know.
The Paul Weller print, Kindly donated by Derek D'Souza is now being raffled to our new initiative 'Tonic Rider'.
