Dear All,
My name is Pavel. I am truly fortunate in being able to conduct groundbreaking and exciting research into cures for mitochondrial diseases at the University of Cambridge on a grant generously provided by the Lily foundation!
This November I was proud to join forces with the Lily foundation and the other fundraisers in participating in the 2021 NYC Marathon to raise awareness for Mitochondrial Diseases, on behalf of those who suffer from these debilitating conditions.
This is a great opportunity for our friends and loved ones to help us in doing something good for those afflicted with Mitochondrial Disorders, and we welcome any contribution large or small, as cumulatively we can make a huge difference! :)
Much love to all of you,
Pavel Nash

Here is an inspiring description of our current endeavour as provided by the Lily Foundation:
"A Marathon is an event where everyone is equal and ordinary at the start but a legend at the finish" The NYC marathon is always an incredible event that creates everyday hero's in the fight against Mitochondrial Disease. 10 million people in the UK suffer from diseases in which mitochondrial dysfunction is believed to be involved, while every day in the UK a baby is born who will develop mitochondrial disease. The disease is debilitating, there is no cure and lives are cut far too short. The Lily Foundation's ultimate aim is to one day find a cure for mito. As the UK's leading charity dedicated to fighting mitochondrial disease, our mission is to support people whose lives are affected by the condition, raise awareness and fund research into its prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
