Belfast City Marathon · 1 May 2022 ·

Allen & Overy colleagues are aiming to raise £1,000,000 over two years to support their Global Charity Partner, Street Child.

Story

Allen & Overy Belfast is proud to support global charity partner, Street Child.

On Sunday 1 May, our two relay teams – Sophie Davenport, Brian McIvor, Ursula Henry, Justin McLean, Paula Scally, Kirsty Diver,  Patrick Connolly, Rachel Reid, Orla Rodgers and Darren Leavesley – will be taking part in the 40th Belfast City Marathon to raise funds for  Street Child.

Street Child works to protect and educate children. It is dedicated to improving the life chances of children, and believes that every child deserves the chance to go to school and learn. It has recently launched its first emergency appeal in Europe, to help children  affected by the conflict in Ukraine. 100% of donations are given to  vetted local partners to provide basic needs - including food, warm clothing, bedding, baby items and hygiene supplies, to both displaced people and those who have remained in their home cities.

Our fundraising will contribute to A&O’s goal of raising £1million for Street Child. £500,000 will be spent in Sierra Leone, where Street Child will transform 40 rural primary schools, enrol 1,500 girls in secondary school and help 1,000 families build their businesses so they can afford to keep their children in education. The rest will be spent where it is needed most, as unrestricted funding, including the response to the conflict in Ukraine.

To colleagues, family and friends – thank you for your support.

Your donation will make a real difference to children’s lives.
