Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In 2020, I visited the Cisarua Refugee Learning Centre in Indonesia and had the opportunity to speak to refugees who had to flee their home countries and were forced to make Indonesia their home. Their stories, kindness and a want to better their lives despite their circumstances, inspired me greatly. It truly touched my heart and made me appreciate all that I had.
As a result, I endeavoured to raise $5000 for refugee children across the world through the organisation Save the Children by self-conducting and completing the virtual Melbourne Marathon. Through the help and support of amazing friends and family, I managed to achieve this goal. Not only was it extremely rewarding but it allowed me to meet some extraordinary people in the process.
As a thank you for starting me on this incredible journey, my goal is to raise $10,000 for Cisarua Refugee Learning Centre by the end of 2022 and raise awareness for the struggles that refugees face. I will do this through the completion of multiple events such as running marathons, triathlons and even, skydiving. Despite these events being arduous, it pales in comparison to what refugees have to go through to simply start a new and better life for themselves and their families.
Education serves to be the best method to break the cycle of poverty and give the best opportunity at life to refugees. This is what the Cisarua Refugee Learning centre stands for and so do I. I want to thank each and everyone of you for just taking the time to read my page and any amount given would be of great benefit and help to those who need it the most.
