This summer I'll be cycling 150 miles from Whitehaven to Tynemouth over the Pennines to raise money for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation (fund raising reference SBR/012308/001338).
I work for Pebble, a software company based in Newcastle, and this event will contribute to their overall fund raising efforts.
The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation contributes to cutting-edge cancer research globally. It also provides access to early trials for treatment to terminally ill cancer patients across the north east of England and Cumbria. Over £7m has been raised since it was started by Sir Bobby Robson in 2008, after being diagnosed with cancer for the 5th and final time.
Unlike Bradley Wiggins on his super-light, carbon-fibre racing bike I’ll be lacing the mountains on 30lbs of aluminium and rubber. The 2 evenings away from home will be spent resting and refueling on flapjacks and Red Bull. As you know, cycling is one of my biggest passions, and this is going to be my biggest challenge to date, so please show your support for me and make a donation for this great cause.
Please click on Donate now, every penny you give will benefit the tremendous work done by the Foundation, and you will have contributed to the efforts to win the battle against a disease which affects over a quarter of a million people in the UK every year.
