NPC is the only community college serving all of Navajo and Apache Counties in rural northeastern Arizona, two of the poorest counties in the US. The service area, which includes the tribal lands of the Navajo, Hopi, and White Mountain Apache people, is a region of incredible cultural diversity and natural beauty, juxtaposed by the affects of appalling poverty. NPC students lack NOTHING in the way of talent, desire, and ability to earn a post-secondary degree, and they know the transformative power of education, yet financial barriers are their greatest challenge.
