The Endo Cycle - 200 miles - 1 day · 18 November 2017

Over 1.5 million in the UK have endometriosis and the impact of the disease is for some devastating, yet diagnosis takes on average 8 years. With your donations we are turning this around, raising awareness, providing support and information, supporting research, and campaigning for change.

Story

Endometriosis is a condition affecting 1 in 10 women, for which current treatment is unable to cure. Women affected experience severe chronic pain on a daily basis and have to restrict their eating, drinking and physical activities to lessen its impact. The condition is known to have a serious physical, psychological and social impact on women, and therefore greater support and exposure is needed.

Endometriosis became personal to me through being with Shauna, who was diagnosed just aged 19. Seeing its effects first-hand led me to want to take action and do my bit to support both her and others that are dealing with endo.

I made the bold claim that I thought I could cycle 200 miles in one day on my second-hand eBay bike and now it's time to see if I have the minerals. 200 miles terrifies me and is not something I've ever come close to in my days ambling through the countryside on a Sunday morning. Time to get training...

I hope you will support me and this genuinely worthwhile cause, I know my legs will be screaming out for money!

Cheers,

Ped
