Story

Hi Friends and Fellow colleagues,

There is only one more day left in the United Way Fundraiser at Sanofi  ending tomorrow on Oct 31. I just recently stepped up to the challenge by making this fundraising page (my first fundraising page) and I challenge you to make a difference in someone else's life.  It's not too late for you to donate to such a great cause!

The United Way has been a charity that I have long supported at my work at Sanofi, whether it be through the many fun "Wacky Olympics" run by the hardworking co-ops, or Halloween costume events (watch out for my Halloween costume this year), or just straight up simple donations.

I have been watching "The Good Place" on Netflix, and was inspired to do something good. Who knew a comedy show would do that?

This year was especially emotional for the indigenous community, for everyone across Canada and for everyone around the world.  On Orange shirt day, I wondered to myself what else could I do besides sending my girls to school wearing a shirt (from old Navy) to show support to the Indigenous community.  I searched around for indigenous designed clothing to support the community, but have yet to make my purchase. As I helped my daughter with her grade 6 homework which already involved discussing her thoughts  on the recent discoveries of the residential schools as part of her assignment, I was extremely reflective.  I contemplated donating to the indigenous community, but which charity? I then hit a roadblock.

This opportunity at work magically arrived to help fundraise, and while initially I was reluctant,  here I am!  It has been a journey and I encourage you to join me on this journey to make a difference in someone else's life.

I am calling out to you to support the United Way.  Take a minute of your time and help someone else in need of support.

This year,  all the funds raised are in support of the Black, Indigenous & People of Colour Equity Fund – dedicated to ensuring people from racialized, Black and Indigenous communities, including immigrants & refugees have access to life-changing services and support close to home.

Moreover, Sanofi is matching the donations, so your donation will have double the bang!

Any amount, no matter how small, will help.

Thank you for your time!

Peggy
