💜 Finishing What My Mum Started
I’m fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund in memory of my mum, to reach the £5,000 target she set during her own battle with cancer.
When she began chemotherapy, one of her biggest fears was losing her hair. I told her I’d shave mine in solidarity. She was totally against the idea… until she jokingly challenged me:
“Raise £5,000, then you can shave it.”
It felt like an impossible goal, but I share her most defining trait — pure stubbornness.
Four years later, I’m still going. Still finding new ways to reach that target. And when we finally hit £5,000, I’ll be shaving my head just as I promised her.
I chose to support Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund because it’s the only UK charity solely dedicated to funding research into pancreatic cancer — a disease that’s often caught far too late. It’s the 11th most common cancer, yet one of the deadliest, with most diagnoses happening at stage 4. Survival rates haven’t improved in over 40 years, and that has to change.
So far, the journey has included:
A bake sale
Donating my hair to the Little Princess Trust
A charity boxing match (which I actually won!)
Donating a percentage of all Bespoke Nostalgia sales
Creating products where 100% of profits went to the cause
Now, I’m less than £1,200 away from the finish line — and I’m giving it one final push.
We’re hosting a series of crafting workshops and raffles to help reach the goal. So if you can come along, learn a new craft, have some fun, and help raise money along the way — please do.
Whether you donate, share my story, or simply take the time to read it, thank you. You’re helping me honour my mum’s wish, keep a promise I made, and support vital research that could change lives.
We’re nearly there. Let’s finish this, together. 💜
