Story

The team at Penguins will be taking part in our own version of the #TwoPointSixChallenge in order to raise much needed funds for our friends at Alexander Devine and to do our bit to be #HomeHeroes.

Over TWO weeks, the team will be taking part in multiple challenges…silly and serious but all related to the numbers TWO and SIX!

We would love for you to get behind us and show your support.

We know that there has been a lot of reasons recently to give generously to charity so any penny you can donate would be great appreciated!  As they say, every little counts! 😊

Why Alexander Devine…

Some of you may already know the history between Penguins and Alexander Devine.

Penguins have been supporting Alexander Devine since the very beginning and over the years the support and love has only grown stronger.

To us the team at Alexander Devine aren’t just friends...they’re family!

Over the years, we’ve watched and the cheered the team on as they took an idea, promoted it, fundraised for it and realised their dream, opened the children’s hospice in Maidenhead.

They are only at the start of their journey and there is so much more they have to give so we can’t let them not reach their full potential.

These guys are in their own way also on the frontline.
Even though the doors to the hospice have had to temporarily close because of COVID-19, the team are still reaching our to the families within their care to offer as much support as possible.

We want to ensure that one day very soon the doors can re-open and they can continue the amazing work they do.

The hospice was created to support the whole family.  From giving their parents, who are super hero’s a chance to have a break, knowing their children are in safe hands with their siblings able to be completely included in all of the fun.  The hospice has been built with so much thought behind it, from a communal family kitchen where other families
can socialise together or a family can get in the kitchen to make  something, a music room, the hydrotherapy pool, the bedrooms each created to not feel like a hospital room, the Legoland sensory garden and the new playground designed so that it is wheelchair friendly.  Every detail has been carefully thought out and created so that the children feel they are in a place of safety, fun and happiness, the children have even given it the name of “Alex’s house” and a playdate there is a highlight to any week.

Our Challenges…

We will keep you updated on the challenges each team member plans to do and how they get on, so keep checking back to see our progress!
