Cavendish Cancer Care is a charity dedicated to improving the quality of life for people living with cancer. No one should face cancer alone, so we provide emotional support through counselling and complementary therapies. Our services are provided free of charge and are funded through donations.

Story

WOULD YOU WALK 286 MILES IN 13 DAYS?

Gilder Group Managing Director, Garry Scotting, and Head of Business at Peter Gilder Audi, Mark Tamblyn, have done just that!

The route that has been described as the longest and toughest long distance walk in the is the Pennine Way and spans from Edale in Derbyshire to Kirk Yetholm in the Scottish Borders. They embarked on their journey on Saturday 6th May and plan to be finished, less than a fortnight later, on Thursday 18th May.

“The walk so far has been much more difficult than we could ever have imagined, but we’ve had the privilege of meeting some fantastic characters and seen some of the most incredible scenery along the way. And most importantly, the money raised will hopefully be enough to make a difference to the lives of those that really need it” Garry Scotting

“At times, it feels like we might not make it, but we’ve been receiving updates on the amount of money that has been streaming in, which has really helped to keep us going through the toughest moments” Mark Tamblyn

“After the weeks of planning and months of training that Garry and Mark put in, it is great to see how much support they are receiving” Annie Sutherland of the Cavendish Centre. “

The Cavendish Centre provides supportive care, free of charge, to cancer patients, their carers and families. It helps people find ways of coping with the physical and psychosocial effects of the illness, helping them to live through the illness with maximum independence and optimum quality of life.
