Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are three (fairly) outdoorsy girls who have taken on the challenge of walking the 268 miles of the Pennine Way in 20 days or less (our target is 16!).
We will start off Edale in Derbyshire, and finish in Kirk Yetholm in the Scottish Borders. The route crosses some of the finest upland landscapes in England, from the Peak District, through the Yorkshire Dales, across the North Pennines and over Hadrian’s Wall in Northumberland to the Cheviots.
We will also be carrying everything on our backs (food, camping equipment etc) the entire way, so this will be a challenge! We may even do some wild camping too!
We decided on Dementia UK as it is close to our hearts with some of our family members being affected by dementia. Dementia is caused when the brain is damaged by diseases, such as Alzheimer's Disease or a series of strokes. There are currently 850, 000 people in the UK with dementia, and with an aging population this number is only set to increase. Dementia UK provide specialist support for families facing dementia.
